Taylor Novitsky is a Civil Engineering Specialist with 3 years of professional experience. This will be her second year as Chair of the Philadelphia chapter of Young Professionals in Transportation. She works in the Transportation and Infrastructure group at STV in Center City Philadelphia, and has experience in roadway design, drainage, traffic control, and ESPC work. She has worked on several Philadelphia projects for agencies such as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. More recently, has even had the opportunity to work on projects in Oklahoma and Connecticut. Taylor lives in Philadelphia, and graduated from Penn State in 2019. In her spare time, you can find Taylor teaching dance classes in Bucks County, snowboarding, and watching Philly & PSU sports.

Lexy is a Civil Engineering Analyst for Kimley-Horn on the Transportation Planning and Traffic Operations team, which has further developed her passion for sustainability, equity, and safety in transportation and the built environment. She has over two years of professional experience in Philadelphia, working on public and private projects in traffic analysis, traffic signal and intersection design, and transportation and safety planning. 

This is her first year serving as the Deputy Chair for YPT Philadelphia and she is excited to continue to grow the chapter and create opportunities for industry peers. She hopes that 2024 will be an even bigger year for YPT Philadelphia!

Lexy has a civil engineering degree from Lehigh University, which initially brought her to the east coast. She is originally from Portland, Oregon and loves to spend her free time outdoors — hiking, biking, camping, skiing, surfing, and picking up any other new sports. Lexy also enjoys traveling and exploring the East Coast.

Sophia Fox is a Public Outreach Specialist with Stokes Creative Group and has over five years of experience in the transportation field. This is her first year serving as Director of Communications for YPT Philadelphia. She is excited to use her skills and expertise for an organization that creates networking opportunities for young transportation professionals in the Philadelphia area.

At Stokes, Sophia supports clients through various outreach and engagement strategies to foster a relationship with communities and stakeholders affected by projects. She works with clients such as the Pennsylvania Turnpike, New Jersey Department of Transportation, NJ Transit, the Delaware River Port Authority, and more.

Outside of work, Sophia loves to go on walks around Philadelphia, trying new restaurants in the city with friends, and attempting new workout classes. 

Chris Edwards is a committed member in the Traffic and Infrastructure group for STV, with two years of experience in transportation. He is currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Construction Management at Drexel University. Chris has actively contributed to significant projects with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, working on revisions of plans for final design submissions and developing site plans for a new DRPA training facility in South Philadelphia.

While deeply engaged in his studies at Drexel, Chris is on track to graduate in 2024, bringing a thoughtful combination of academic knowledge and practical insights to his work. Outside of his professional commitments, he is a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, supporting the local teams with genuine enthusiasm. Whether he’s on the golf course, shooting hoops, or enjoying quality time with friends, Chris’s love for sports and commitment to his community shine through. #TrustTheProcess #GoBirds

After graduating from Drexel University in March 2023, Ben Shelley started at Vanguard in their Acceleration into Financial Professionals (AFP) Program as a Senior Associate and currently works in Investment Operations. During his time at Drexel, Ben was a Financial Advising Co-op with Invictus Wealth Management and a high net worth Wells Fargo Advisory in Doylestown for two years. He then was a 6-month Co-op with Vanguard’s US and Worldwide Fund Tax Teams working on several projects including European Court of Justice reclaims from Italy and Sweden and assisting the distribution of fund income to shareholders. 

This will be Ben’s second year serving as the Director of Finance for YPT Philadelphia, and he is very excited to see the progress made from last year and looks forward to some fun and engaging events with YPT! In his free time you can find Ben playing hockey, on the golf course, skiing down the slopes and attending concerts.

After graduating from Clemson University in the Spring of 2022, Archie started full-time as a Structural Engineering Specialist with STV Inc. In addition to bridge design, he has been cross-trained in Civil Highway tasks and has done work with Electrification and Automation. When away from work he enjoys golfing, fishing, and going down the shore with friends. As the YPT Philadelphia Director of Sponsorship, Archie will be focused on raising more money for the organization for events and any other areas where it may be needed.
